Holdrege Solar Project (4.7MW)
Located just outside of Lincoln, this 4.7 MW (DC) project for Enerparc Inc. is Nebraska’s largest solar installation to date. NESCO’s scope included civil, fencing, mechanical and electrical work. Construction began late Q1 2016, and was completed by the beginning of Q3 2016. The project utilized 15,333 Heliene Modules, founded on Solar FlexRack’s TDL Series Single Axis Tracker.
San Isabel Solar Project (37.5MW)
The 37.5 Megawatt (MW) DC began construction in May of 2016 and achieved substantial completion in November of 2016. The project consisted of 120,960 modules and employed over 400 people. Despite a delayed start and compressed schedule, the project was successfully completed on-time.
Lemond Solar Project (6.58MW)
Located in Owatonna, MN – just south of Minneapolis, the 6.58 MW (DC) for Enerparc Inc. followed on the success of the Holdrege project. In an effort to meet project budgets NESCO took on stringent licensing requirements in the state to self-perform much of the work. This approach allowed NESCO to eliminate unnecessary markups and change orders that arise when employing multiple subcontractors. By utilizing safe and efficient techniques, minimizing cost redundancies and cross training personnel across the multiple scopes, the project will complete a month ahead of the COD.
Southern Montana Solar Project (11.27MW)
Located in Southern Montana, this portfolio of three projects totaling 11.27 MW- DC was awarded to NESCO as the General Contractor. Construction began in December 2017, and COD was achieved in March of 2017 across all three sites. These projects provided many challenges and obstacles to overcome including frost, bedrock, aggressive scheduling, and winter working conditions. With a strong management approach and detailed scheduling the projects were successfully completed on-time.
Queen Creek Solar Project (25MW)
Located in Queen Creek, Arizona, and developed by Juwi Solar, construction began on the Queen Creek Solar project in January 2012. The 25 MW Queen Creek Solar project is owned by PSEG and consists of 90,000 photovoltaic modules with an ATI DuraTrack Single axis tracking system that will generate 54,000 MW hours on a 135-acre site.
“Working with NESCO makes my job easy. They are a great solar installer. They take all parts of the construction of solar arrays with great care and understanding of what my company is looking for. I would recommend them to anyone in the solar field.”-Steve Linn, Site Superintendent, Coldwell Solar
Quality Estimating
With our detailed approach to quantifying the proposed project, our historical data on several rack systems, and review of the local environment, our clients can be confident in the research of our proposals, and the accuracy of our estimates.
“The 1.2 MW Westar project design used a Solar FlexRack tracking system. This was Brandt’s first experience installing a Solar FlexRack tracking system. NESCO’s experience with the Solar FlexRack system played an important role in completing the installation within a narrow time frame. Their ability to use minimal professional staff to manage local labor helped alleviate customer concerns that the project would be installed by an out of state contractor. NESCO was very supportive in assisting other trades with questions or concerns regarding the installation of the system. Their flexibility in spite of inclement weather delays made this project a success. We look forward to working with NESCO on future projects.”
-Patrick Hayes, Project Manager, The Brandt Companies, LLC
Innovative Production Solutions
We take every project and break it down into manageable tasks. Each is reviewed to develop the safest, highest quality, and most productive technique to accomplish the goal. These methods are continually monitored for compliance and improvement. This approach has resulted in safer, better, and faster project success.
“NESCO has been a great partner to work with. They go above and beyond any other company we have worked with. To give one example, they agreed to work with us on 3 projects in Montana that needed to get built in parallel – during the middle of winter! They worked through frozen ground, snow, ice and mud slides (when things began to thaw out). Nothing stopped them from moving forward. They also have some of the best construction managers I have worked with – that understand solar installation and construction. The NESCO team and communicative and proactive, and they fully understand all aspects of the solar business.”
-David FitzGerald, Associate Director of Project Management, Enerparc Inc.
Project Scheduling
We use Microsoft Projects scheduling software to ensure on-time completions and quality tracking for all our clients.
“It is my pleasure to recommend NESCO to any EPC who is looking for a quality solar installation company. Their leadership and attention to detail was evident throughout the entire process. The level of quality on these projects was nothing less than outstanding.”
-Larry Reeves, Project Manager-Array Technologies, Inc
Real Time Production Reporting
We have developed systems to monitor production daily, which results in the ability to make immediate improvements.
“NESCO offers outstanding preconstruction services with detailed, clear and complete estimates/proposals. Bill Mead’s experience has been invaluable when calling on them for advice on post driving and soil issues. We trust NESCO to deliver creative options and solutions to the multitude of issues that arise during Preconstruction. NESCO delivers from preconstruction to construction.”
-Travis Thurman, Business Development Manager-Applied Energy Technologies
Local Hires and Training
We work with local government employment agencies to fill our labor needs and provide extensive start-up training, with the commitment to developing experienced solar mechanics.
“NESCO has provided a great deal of support for our start-up company and its new technology. They have graciously shared their contacts and experience as we develop our patented Sulas HelioDrive tracking system and will be donating their services to install our prototype in 2014. NESCO has certainly demonstrated a strong commitment to new technology with the goal of improving our industry.”
