The Wisconsin Portfolio faced some interesting challenges during construction, particularly due to its location near a dense tree line and unfavorable soil conditions. While these challenges added complexity to access and material staging, it also highlighted the team’s resourcefulness and adaptability. Key lessons learned from these projects included the necessity of strict adherence to the build sequence and early identification of potential obstacles to maintain workflow. Difficult soil conditions made the placement of direct burial cables challenging and a high-water table complicated excavation efforts, increasing the risk of water accumulation. The need to relocate drain tiles required careful planning to avoid disrupting existing drainage systems. From these challenges, the team learned to adapt and work with engineers regarding site specific conditions.
Sequenced Projects
Building the Wisconsin Portfolio in sequence provided significant efficiencies that streamlined the overall construction process. Shared resources, such as equipment and labor, minimized downtime and reduced costs, while coordinated project timelines allowed for lessons learned in one project to be swiftly applied to the next. This approach not only enhanced logistical planning, but also fostered a collaborative environment, enabling teams to optimize workflows and address challenges more effectively.
