This project is located in the same township as another array, this second 7 MW DC ground mount solar project is located in Livingston County, Illinois. The co-location strategy significantly improved efficiency, reduced mobilization costs, and streamlined communication among NESCO and stakeholders. With similar design elements and site conditions, many processes—from material handling to installation techniques—were replicated and refined, enabling a smoother and more cost-effective execution.

While operationally efficient, the site also presented its own environmental challenges. Saturated soils, intermittent heavy rains, and persistent winds tested the team’s adaptability throughout the build. Nevertheless, the project benefited from NESCO’s experience and trusted engineering partners, who remained focused on maintaining progress and quality. Showcasing the value of co-locating projects and leveraging team continuity to overcome both environmental and logistical hurdles.
